Pictured is the specially weighted Fordson tractor used to cultivate the trees which got upset. A September 12, 1923, advertisement in the Brownstown Banner notes: Apples are very scarce this year. We have 150 bushels of very good “Grimes Golden”, nice, clean, well sprayed apples, at the residence of S.M. Hotchkiss.... Price $1, $1.50 and $2.00 per bushel....”
